The campground at Waratah can be accessed by heading North West from Burnie on the B18 for a distance of app. 55 kilometres to an intersection A10. Turn right and then travel on the B23 for 7 kilometres until you reach Waratah. Then turn left at the Waratah Caravan Park sign and follow a track on the right to the back of the park. Waratah Campground is located app. 65-kilometres from Cradle Mountain or a 50-minute drive. There are grassed tent sites as well as flat caravan sites, both powered and non-powered. The park is convenient to shops, a hotel, and the museum. Waratah is close to trout lakes, bushwalking tracks, waterfalls, gold panning, mine tours, the Pieman River cruises, and Cradle Mountain is relatively close making Waratah an ideal base to explore the west coast. Camping fees for a powered site are approximate -  $37 for an unpowered site is $27, facilities only is $12, self-contained $15. The campground Waratah is within walking distance to all Waratah attractions including the famous Waratah Waterfall. For bushwalkers, there is a choice of accessible walks in and around the town of Waratah including the beautiful Philosopher Falls Track. There is also a challenging 9-hole golf course, and the keen fisherman can fish for trout in the well-stocked lake. Whilst staying at Waratah, be sure to check the expansive lake at dawn and dusk where platypus are regularly seen. Waratah Camping Ground offers caravan and campsite facilities at Waratah in Tasmania's northwest. Waratah is a small tin-mining town situated halfway between Burnie and Queenstown. The campground is situated beside a small lake and has app. 30 campsites and 10 powered sites, electric barbeques, amenities block, and laundry facilities.
