Waldheim cabins are located app. 5 km inside the Cradle Mountain National Park and bookings are required. Cabins are equipped with gas heating, single bunk beds, basic cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, gas cooktop stoves, and ovens. The amenities block has showers and flushing toilets. Linen can be provided at an additional charge of $11 per person. Waldheim has permanent electricity and electric refrigerators. There is a campground located near the Cradle Mountain National Park entrance that is privately operated by Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village. Campsites, cabins, bunk rooms, powered sites, and alpine-style huts are available at this campsite. The park operated by Cosy Cabins was originally designed for camping, and therefore most tent sites are in secluded bush alcoves. There are sites for group camping and bus parking available away from the group camping area. You can enjoy a private wilderness experience with the comfort of excellent facilities nearby. Breathe some of the cleanest air in the world and enjoy wildlife such as small wallabies, possums, and birds as they visit you early evening at your cabin door. There is no free camping available within walking distance of the entrance to the Cradle Mountain National Park, or in the Cradle Mountain day walk area. If you are walking the Overland Track, campsites are located throughout the track, as well as huts large enough to suit reasonable size groups.
