The Dora Point Camping area is free of charge; the maximum stay is 4-weeks. Dogs are OK if kept under control at all times and a ranger patrols the area. There is no fresh drinking water and you must carry your own firewood. Fuel stoves are recommended. The Dora Point Camping area is well signposted off Binalong Bay Road, app. 8 kilometres north of the town of St Helens. Travel for a distance of just over 4.5 kilometres to the camping area where you will find a good selection of sheltered camping sites. Dora Point Camping Area is located 4 1/2 km North of Stieglitz. The campsites at Dora Point are excellent; there is a good swimming area for kids at low tide in the abundant rock pools in the area. Dora Point is a free camping area situated at the entrance to Georges Bay and has basic toilet facilities and cold showers. This site is suitable for caravans, campervans where you can set up camp only metres from beautiful beaches. This camping area looks over the Georges Bay narrows to St Helens Point; there are plenty of sheltered sites next to a safe swimming beach. You must carry your own drinking water and firewood, although gas/fuel stoves are preferred. The turn-off is signposted from Binalong Bay Rd, 8 km north of St Helens. Turn right onto unsealed Dora Point Rd, 5 km from the intersection.
