Granville Harbour Camping Smithton

To access the camping ground Granville Harbour, take the ferry at Corinna and head south along the road C249 for a distance of app. 15.5 kilometres. You will come across a junction to C252. Take this road for another 10 kilometres before taking the road marked to Granville Harbour (another 8.8 kms) Continue through the main stress of Granville Harbour and follow the track south along the coast - note, this track is rocky. You will find some good grassed camping spots in amongst the tea trees. People travelling ina 4 wheel drive can continue north along the coast to find a camping area on the beach Granville Harbour is much like the nearby beach and fishing area of Trial Harbour. Please note, there are no shops or facilities.  This area is popular for swimming, camping, fishing, boating, bushwalking and 4 wheel driving (4WD). There is camping at Granville Harbour then at intervals along Farm track as you head north. Most of these are extremely exposed to the incoming roaring 40s and you would want to pick your day. There is another campground at nearby Pieman Heads, that is located in behind the dunes and offers protection from the wind. It is important to note that camping sports at Trial Harbour, Granville Harbour and Pieman Heads are not large and are first come, best dressed. If all campsites are full, which is common over Christmas, Easter long-weekends and some school holidays you have no choice than to head back to larger towns away from the coast.
