camping lake burbury tasmania

Lake Burbury is popular with local fishermen, being located on the edge of Tasmania's World Heritage Wilderness Area. Lake Burbury is located a 15 minute drive south east of Queenstown. You can fish for the elusive Tasmanian wild trout, with both brown and rainbow trout in abundance however licenses are required (14 years and over) and trout fishing is seasonal. Lake Burbury Camping Ground offers a large grassed camping area, many spots with good shelter. Campsites cost a small daily fee of $6.00 per tent, campervan or RV and a caretaker is located on site. Lake Burbury Camping Ground provides two good excellent sites next to Lake Burbury; both are suitable for tents, caravans, campervans and motorhomes. You must carry your own water and firewood. There is a coin-operated barbecue, fish in the lake or enjoy water sports such as kayaking and canoeing. Please note this campsite can be very busy in summer and during holiday periods; the grassed camping areas can get very wet after heavy and/or prolonged rain and or snow.
