For a longer stay in the Fingal Valley area the Griffin Camping Area is a popular choice to explore surrounding forests for walks, waterfalls, animal spotting, photography and to generally take in the scenery. The Griffin Camping area Fingal is located on the banks of the South Esk River, and offers many sites on a large grassy area with sites offering shade, sun or relative privacy.

The river is popular with trout fishermen and is suitable for swimming. To reach this campsite travel North on the B43 for 25 kilometres from Fingal to the Mathinna turn off. Turn right across the bridge and then take the first left for app. 600 metres where you will find a picnic area by the river. Follow the signs a further 5 kilometres to Griffin Park. You will find several large open camping locations, suitable for campervans and caravans.
