Stumpys Bay campsites are located on Tasmania's beautiful far North East, near Cape Portland, Rushy Lagoon and the Boobyalla Conservation Area. Mt William is a relatively short drive to the Bay of Fires Camping area. The Mt William National Park boasts beautiful beaches, fishing opportunities diving, beach walks and swimming with care. It is common to see native wildlife at dawn and dusk including Forester Kangaroo. To access the North of the Mt William National Park, travel on the C845 road. From the small town of Gladstone, travel on the C843 in an easterly direction for 8 kilometres, before turning onto the C845 where you will travel for another 40 kilometres to the Anson's Bay Road. You then head West for 19 kilometres on the C845. Stumpys Bay Camping Area number 4 is signposted; it is located 1.5 kilometres past Stumpys Bay camping area number 3. This is a mostly open camping area, with limited shade. There is a day-use area at Stumpys Bay number 4, complete with a gas barbecue. Toilets, picnic table, barbecue, firepot. No dogs. There is a park ranger in the area. Campers must carry their own drinking water and firewood. There is excellent fishing in the area, and swimming with care (obey all signs). You must remove your own rubbish, and use existing fire areas. The Southern end of the Mt William National Park is where you will find the Eddystone Point Lighthouse, a popular attraction on this potentially windswept part of the North East tip of Tasmania. The Mt William National Park Bay camping area offers a number of open sites, and also some with shelter. There is a boat ramp in the area, campgrounds are suitable for motorhomes, campervans and caravans - NO DOGS. Existing fire sites must be used. Bring your own water & firewood.
