Camping Bay of Fires

Listing Details

This camping area has terrific ocean views from inside most motorhomes or caravans. The toilets are the old-fashioned drop type and the log cabin styling matches the bush feel of this area. The campsites at Bay Of Fires are pretty much as good as you will find, made all the more remarkable by virtue of the fact of this unbelievable location - you can stay for up to four weeks for free; no passes required. Please note that during the busier and hotter Summer months, this is a very popular location and the chance of getting this campsite to yourself is remote. However, if you are prepared to forego the sea views there are typically plenty of private spots. For more information check out our FAQ section on camping in Tasmania. The best way in is from St Helens along Binnalong Bay Road then into Garden Road. No rubbish bins or water. There is a general store at Binnalong Bay. You can get water in the Sports Complex in St Helens. Other activities include Beach, Diving, Fishing, Wildlife, Bushwalking, Snorkelling, Bird Watching. The town of Binalong Bay is located at the southern end of the Bay of Fires and is the closest location for food. You need to be fairly self-contained to camp in this area and remember Bay of Fires is extremely popular with locals and visitors during Christmas and Easter, school holidays, and long weekends.
