Bayside free campsites on either left or right of the access road into the reserve; this area are suitable for small vehicles only with room for some tents camping. Access to the Sloop Reef camping area is via a signpost off the Gardens Road, 7.5 kilometres from Binalong Bay Road. Travel a further app. 400 metres to a crossroads; turn left for a further 200 metres to the camping area. Sloop Reef is best suited for small caravans, camper trailers and campervans as the access road is narrow and the area only small. There is an alternative camping area when you turn right at the crossroads for tent based camping only. The Bay of Fires is a highly-rated and very popular destination for camping in Tasmania. There are no facilities at Sloop Reef (no toilets, no water, no rubbish bins). Dogs are OK if kept on leads and under control at all times. This area is extremely packed during Christmas and New Year, Easter and weekends during the warmer Summer months. This is a fuel stove only campground. No toilets, no water, no firewood and no rubbish collection. Maximum stay 4 weeks. There is a day-use area at Grants Lagoon Bay of Fires. The nearest showers are in the town of St Helens which is located app. 35 kilometres away. Please take your own food, drinking water and fuel stoves only.
