Pontville is a small town close to the largest town of Brigton, and located app. 32 kilometres north of Tasmania's State Capital Hobart. Parking is available for up to 48 hours at the Pontville RV Park, located at Glen Lea Road, for a fee of $5 per night. A dump point, potable water, covered seating and bins are all available at or close to this site. All vehicles staying at the RV Friendly Stop Pontville must be fully self contained. This RV Friendly stop is a quiet place to stop over with easy access to Hobart and all attractions such as Mt Wellington, Salamanca Place and Mona Museum. Pontville has a rich history, it was originally settled in 1821 and contains many examples of colonial architecture, including the Police Station, Saint Marks Church and the Crown Inn. The Crown Inn still operates and sells counbter meals in its dining room, and is convenient to the RV Friendly Stop area. A short drive up the road is the main street of Brighton, a large and expanding town with all the necessary amenities and more including an IGA Supermarket, hotel and bottle shop, butcher, 2 service stations, bakery, and much more.  See also:
