The River & Rocks campsite is located app. 20 km south of the turn-off to Coles Bay from the Tasman Highway A3. It is easily accessible and suitable for caravans, camper trailers, and people travelling in a campervan or motorhome. Excellent group camping is available at River & Rocks; there are also plenty of secluded spots which can accommodate a caravan or motorhome. River & Rocks has a pit toilet and barbecue; you will however need to bring your own water and firewood. This campsite is not in the Freycinet National Park so camping fees or park entry don’t apply. Campers can stay for a maximum of 4 weeks. There are no showers and only a pit toilet. There is no drinking water, so please carry your own. Fires are only permitted in provided fireplaces, and you must carry your own wood. Fuel stoves are recommended. There are facilities, shops and services are at nearby Coles Bay. There is a small track to the river to launch boats, but please note the water is shallow. There is phone, TV, and mobile internet access (Telstra as a minimum) and most sites have good shade. You can choose from a large open area for drive-through vehicles or individual bays. BIG RIGS, however, should take care on the soft sand. To access, drive to a waypoint on Coles Bay Road, 7.5km North of Coles Bay before turning southwest. Continue for 800m to the campground along the dirt road. Suitable for campervans, motorhomes, caravans.
