There is app. 50 campsites at the Fortescue Bay camping area. There are two separate campsites at Fortescue Bay and bookings are required - Mill Creek and Banksia, with the latter, set aside for tent-based camping. The Mill Park campground at Fortescue is suitable for campervans, camper trailers, motorhomes, and caravans. The campsite features a shower block, toilets, and barbeques - there is also a boat ramp. Fireplaces are provided; wood is available for sale from the Ranger's office and under no circumstances should wood be removed from trees. There is a rubbish collection area at Fortescue Bay; all rubbish should be placed in the rubbish facility in the day-use area. There is a hot shower available at the Banksia campground, but please note it is often closed during dry summers when water is in short supply. There is a token-operated timer; tokens can be purchased from the campground caretakers with a $2 token giving you a 4-minute shower. There is abundant wildlife in the area, however, please do not feed native animals. Fortescue Bay has water taps in both Banksia and Mill Creek campgrounds and day-use areas. Boiling water for 3 minutes or sterilising via other means before consumption is recommended. In addition to camping fees, all visitors must have a valid national parks pass. A ranger is onsite. There are excellent bushwalks in the area, including Waterfall Bay Walk. Bookings for the Fortescue Bay campground are essential from the opening of the crayfish season at the beginning of November, until Easter each year. We also recommend making a booking at other times of the year just to be certain, as this campsite at Fortescue can get very busy and there are limited other camping options in this region.
