Mt William Camping

Listing Details

There are 6 designated camping sites at Mt William National Park: Top Camp near Musselroe Bay; Deep Creek near Eddystone Point; Stumpys Bay No.1; Stumpys Bay No.2; Stumpys Bay No.3; and Stumpys Bay No.4. Generators are permitted in all campsites except Stumpies 2. The Visitors Guide to Mt William National Park has a map showing the locations of these campsites. Camping permits for Mt William National Park are available from the Gladstone Store; camping permits cover up to 7 nights; for 1-2 adults the cost is app. $50.00. Each extra adult is app. $20.00, each extra child is app. $10.00. Please Note: There is no refuse disposal, power, wood, or reliable drinking water available at this Park. Please bring your own drinking water and own firewood (available for sale in the Gladstone Township). Fuel stoves are recommended in this park. No bookings are taken. Some picnic tables and fireplaces are provided, pit toilets at all sites. Day shelter with gas barbecues at Stumpys Bay (campground No. 4 only) with a small non-treated water tank (seasonal only). Campgrounds and narrow access tracks are not suitable for large caravans and motorhomes. They may be seriously damaged due to limited maneuvering space and large overhanging tree branches. Small to medium-sized caravans and motorhomes can be accommodated in all campgrounds except Stumpys number 2. There is also a campground at the far northern end of the park, Top Camp, to the east of Musselroe Bay township. At the southern end of the park, the Deep Creek campground can be located at the end of the beachside road from Eddystone Point to Deep Creek. All official campsites are marked with signs - there are plenty of sheltered sites, but no powered sites. Campers are required to pay camping fees upon occupying a campsite; deposit boxes are situated at each campground. Seel also camping Deep Creek. Generators are only permitted at No. 3, Stumpys Bay. The Visitors Guide to Mt William National Park has a map showing the locations of these campsites. EFTPOS facilities are not available. We recommend that you detour along Eddystone Point Rd and view the spectacular sand dunes at Abbotsbury Beach, and also take in spectacular views of the lighthouse at Mt William and Bay of Fires.
