Listing Details

Camping Mt Field, offering both unpowered and powered sites, together with an amenities block, and operated by a private operator on-site at the Mt Field Campground. The operators of the campground Mt Field National Park can be contacted by telephone by calling +61 3 6288 1149. Exact fees, availability, and amenities will be provided by the private operator. This is a great campsite, offering flat, well-grassed, and shady spots suitable for tent camping and big rigs. Strictly NO DOGS or PETS. ​Bookings are not required. The campsites are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis with payment for camping made either at the campgrounds' self-registration booth (cash payments only) or at the Visitor Centre during operating hours. Park entry fees apply and can be pre-paid online or at the Visitor Centre. For after-hours arrivals, a pay display kiosk is located at the Visitor Centre for park entry card payments.​ Government Huts are available in a different location near Lake Dobson and must be booked via the National Parks & Wildlife Tasmania website. For the Government Huts, keys can be collected from and must be returned to, the Mt Field Visitor Centre during business hours. A key deposit is required and is payable at the time that keys are collected. The deposit is fully refundable upon the return of the key. Please read the Terms and Conditions associated with the Government Huts available by clicking HERE See: Seagers Lookout Walk: At Mt Field, there are unpowered and powered sites, an amenities block with hot showers, clothes washing machine, and dryer (coin-operated), BBQ shelters and hot water. There are also 5 cabins located near Lake Dobson containing 6 bunks per cabin and with vinyl-covered mattresses, cold water, wood heater, and firewood. There is no electricity or gas, a communal toilet block, and no showers. Fuel stoves must be carried - no fires are allowed outside cabins.
