The campsite Yellow Beach Coastal Reserve, Flinders Island Tasmania Australia is accessed off Potboil Road, app. 2 kilometres east of the small Flinders Island township of Lady Barron. This is overnight camping only at Yellow Beach, Lady Barron. Bookings are not possible; camping is on a first-come, first-served basis. This campground is ideal for groups, and the car park can accommodate app. 20 vehicles. The viewing platform is an ideal location to view the islands of Franklin Sound including Big Green, Vansittart, Big Dog, Little Dog, and Cape Barren, or west towards Lady Barron Wharf. You can take the Yellow Beach walk, which is app. 3.5 km return which takes you along the coast back towards the boat slip and Lady Barron. For campers wishing to freshen up during their stay or to prepare for the flight home, the Furneaux Tavern 03 6359 3521 provides facilities at a small charge. When camping on Flinders Island, campers are asked to take care not to pollute any local water systems and to be careful when drinking water from streams. Flinders Island can be accessed by air from Hobart and Launceston with Sharp Airlines or Essendon across Bass Strait with Sharp Airlines. Campers on Flinders Island are asked to take care when lighting fires. Fuel stoves should be carried and used. In summer seek out fire restrictions from the local ranger. Keep any fires to a minimum using only dead and fallen wood. Always ensure that your fire is fully extinguished before leaving your campsite.
