Stumpys Bay campsites are located on Tasmania’s beautiful far North East. The National Park boasts beautiful beaches, fishing opportunities diving, beach walks and swimming with care. It is common to see native wildlife at dawn and dusk including the Forester Kangaroo, Black Cockatoo and Wombats. To access the North of the Mt William National Park, travel on the C845 road. From the small town of Gladstone, travel on the C843 in an easterly direction for 8 kilometres, before turning onto the C845 where you will travel for another 40 kilometres to the Anson’s Bay Road. You then head West for 19 kilometres on the C845. Stumpys Bay Camping Area number 2 can be accessed by travelling 8 kilometres along Forester Kangaroo Drive, which is signposted. Stumpys Bay camping area number 1 is app. 400 metres past Stumpys Bay Number 2; #2 is suitable only for tent based camping. Smaller than campsite no. 1, Stumpys Bay Campsite number 2 is set aside for tent camping only and swimming is safer. Tent sites are located amongst trees in an open area offering good shade where you can simply relax and read a book. This camping area is suitable for gas and fuel stove-only – fires are strictly prohibited. Dogs are strictly prohibited in all national parks in Tasmania. The Mt William National Park Bay camping area offers a number of options across a couple of different areas within the park. Petal Point and Little Musselroe Bay are in one part of the Park, and close to Rushy’s Lagoon and the Cape Portland Wind Farm. Stumpys campgrounds are all located together and closer to Musselroe Bay. To access both camping areas, you need will find signposted directions near the small town of Gladstone.

Fees:

• ​​1 or 2 people – $13.00 per night
• Each additional adult (18+) – $5.00 per night
• ​Each additional child (5-17) – $2.50 per night; under 5 no charge
• Family (2 adults, 3 children) – $16.00​A weekly discounted camping fee to cover up to 7 nights is available; for 1-2 adults the cost is $50.00 and each extra adult is $20.00, and each extra child is $10.00.
