The campground at Finns Beach is signposted off Cockle Creek Road. It is located app. 14 kilometres south of the Ida Bay railway complex and 750 metres past the Gillams Beach Campground. The campsite Finns Beach is suitable for larger motorhomes, campervans, caravans, and camper trailers where you can park your van on a grassed area that is suitable for around 15 vehicles. Please note the camping area can get very wet and muddy following heavy rain. The closest shops in this area are at Hastings Caves Cafe and Southport Tavern which is app. 20km north of Cockle Creek. Food, accommodation, petrol and other services are available 35 km to the north in the small coastal town of Dover. Recherche Bay State Recreation Area provides campgrounds with toilets but no firewood or water at Finns Beach, Gillams Beach, and Catamaran River. Cockle Creek has a larger camping area near Rocky Bay. Water is available at nearby Fords Green or from the D’Entrecastreaux River. Dogs and generators are permitted in the Recherche Bay Recreation Area. The nearest large town is Huonville. if camping in this area for an extended period, it is recommended that you buy supplies from shops in Huonville. Proceed to the waypoint at the junction of Huon Highway and Hastings Caves Road. Turn onto Hastings Caves Road and continue for 22km via Lune River Road to the campground. There is app 15km of dirt road before you come to the first camping area, Gillams Beach.
