The Cluny Dam is located from the A10 Highway, 21 kilometres south of Wayatinah Road, which is about half a kilometre north of Ouse. Take the right turn onto the C606. Travel a further 5 kilometres then turn left and drive for a further 1.5 kilometres to reach the Cluny Dam boat ramp; here you will find the picnic area. The turn off to Cluny dam is just outside the township of Ouse. The campsite is 7 km from the Lyell Highway. Cluny Dam and the Repulse Dam are small, but typical Hydro Power Stations, with beautiful views down the valley of many rivers. These include the Dee, Ouse, Derwent, Broad and Repulse, all now harnessed to the Hydro Power Schemes. Accessed from the Lyell Highway near Ouse, this lake provides trout fishermen with excellent opportunities to fish. The area is mainly used for boating, however, you can also fish from the shore using grubs or worms. The camping areas are basic with no facilities, so be aware you will need to be fully self-sufficient with campsites located amongst the pine plantations. Please note, camping is only allowed in designated areas and there are no facilities.
