Woods Lake is a popular
fishing destination for Tasmanians located in the central
highlands of Tasmania, close to Poatina. Fishing is
popular from the shore and also from boats. There are
a number of bush camping locations around the Woods Lake foreshore.
You access Woods Lake
from signs off the Arthur's Lake Road, which in turn
is signposted from the B51 highways some 4.5 kilometres
north of the junction of the A5 and B51. Woods Lake
foreshore is located 12 kilometres south east from
the Aurthurs Lake Road turnoff.
Please note the road
is quite rough and can be difficult to pass so a 4WD is recommended.
From late spring
Woods Lake provides good fishing for anglers
of all abilities. Prior to hatches starting, most of
the time spent on the water comprises of nymph and wet fly fishing.
