The Wilmot River valley is located near Devonport,on the North
West Coast of Tasmania. This area is being opened up for public
walking through the genorosity of a range of volunteer groups, Forestry Tasmania and other landowners.
An old prospecting
track built by James Dooley in 1859 has been restored in many
places, and in total there some 7 bushwalks listed
to date, ranging from easy to demanding.
The State Library of Tasmania has several copies of a CD detailing
these walks, as well as providing a brief history of
the Dooley Track.
