Lake Rosebery Camping

Listing Details

Lake Rosebery camping, a good spot to stop and camp overnight beside the highway. Take the A10, and app. 1.5 kilometres north of the junction with the B28, and almost 2.5 km south of Tullah, take the track on the west side of the highway. This track is app. 300m before the Murchison Bridge. There is a fairly small size area where you can camp beside the highway. Lake Pieman is a Hydro Tasmania lake located near Rosebery on the West Coast of Tasmania. Rosebery is a mining town; it is located some 5 hours drive or 335 kilometres, north-west of Hobart, and 90 minutes or 125 km south of Burnie. Located just a short drive from Rosebery are Montezuma Falls, the highest single-drop waterfall in Tasmania. The walk down to the falls follows an abandoned rail track through some beautiful rainforest along the edges of the Ring River. There are no facilities, but the camping sites next to Lake Roseberry are idyllic, with enough room for app. 5 campsites. Lake Rosebery is a lake created by the damming of the Pieman River West Coast, Tasmania. It has the former Hydro Tasmania construction village at Tullah, Tasmania on its shores, and it also has the diverted Emu Bay Railway line adjacent as well. The Wee Georgie Wood Railway line runs close to the lake. Feeder rivers include the dammed Mackintosh and Murchison rivers.
