Please note that fishing is currently banned in Lake Sorell. The Dago Point campground, Lake Sorell in Interlaken Tasmania is true bush camping with limited facilities. To camp at Lake Sorell, you must be fully self-sufficient. The campsites are set among tall trees beside the Lake Sorell foreshore with app. 100 camping spots available. It is free to camp Dago Point Lake Sorell. People planning to fish at Lake Crescent should use Dago Point campground as their base as there is no camping at Lake Crescent.
Often you may be the only people camping at this beautiful spot due to its remoteness, and harsh conditions during cooler Winter months. There is plenty of firewood (do not cut any wood, there is plenty on the ground) and an old water tank however please boil or treat water before drinking. There is an old playground and basic toilet facilities. The nearest shops are at Oatlands and Miena which are some distances away and accessible only by narrow gravel roads which should be driven with care at night. Therefore, make sure you are fully self-sufficient. To get to the Dago Point campground Lake Sorell Interlaken Tasmania head to the small settlement of Interlaken, some 28 kilometres from either the Midland Highway near Tunbridge and the Lake Highway. Follow the signs, the campground is 300 m from the turn-off on gravel roads.
